The term slag is used colloquially to describe the residues from waste incineration plants. At our STORK Umweltdienste GmbH site in Magdeburg and STORK Umwelt GmbH in Leipzig, these are processed, screened and crushed in a multi-stage process. Our aim is to achieve high added value by recovering metals and returning them to the economic cycle and to produce high-quality road construction materials and mineral mixtures. The mineral residues from slag processing that are not recycled can then be deposited at our own DK I landfill sites in Erxleben or as part of landfill recultivation in Piesteritz.
Our goal:
Conservation of valuable resources
Added value through recovery
Did you know that every person produces approx. 452 kg of waste per year and that approx. 127 kg of slag remains after waste incineration?
The aim is to achieve high added value from this slag by recovering metals and returning them to the economic cycle. By processing it at our sites, it can be reused directly in steelworks and other smelting plants. We act as a continuous and reliable partner for the production of new metal products.
mineral residues
As a company with a view to future generations, it is very important to us that the mineral residues produced are also recycled sensibly. For this reason, these residual materials are processed once again and then used as a sustainable substitute building material, e.g. for road and landfill construction. In addition to complying with the material qualities according to the Substitute Building Materials Ordinance, parts of the mineral residue can be used as certified road construction material (frost protection layer 0/32 R1) according to ZTV-StB LSBB ST 21.
